Farm Bureau Extension: 2022 Continuing Education Series

California Farm Bureau presents the Farm Bureau Extension: 2022 CE Series held virtually. Join us throughout the year for webinars featuring content that meets your pesticide continuing education (CE) requirements. Subject matter experts will share information immediately applicable to your business operations and advance your professional development. CE certificates will be sent for each webinar attended after successful completion of a simple quiz on the material. New in 2022! This year's schedule will feature CE classes in English and Spanish.

The 2022 CE Series includes EIGHT class dates throughout the year. Class dates are: February 24, March 31, May 5, June 9, July 21, September 1, October 13, November 10. Register and learn more here.

  • Details: Our board meetings are held on the Fourth Tuesday of the month at 5pm and are open to all Farm Bureau members. Please RSVP by sending an email to bburchett@slofarmbureau.org or call our office at 805-543-3654 so we can get a headcount for dinner.

  • Where: California Mid-State Fair, Livestock Pavillion
  • Details: Join Farm Bureau, the Cattlemen's Association and local agriculture leaders as we celebrate SLO County agriculture. Event includes wine tasting, dinner and an awards presentation.   • What: SLO County Farm Bureau's Centennial Celebration!
  • Details: Join us for dinner, drinks, and dancing to celebrate 100 years of advocating for San Luis Obispo County agriculture! Mark your calendars for the evening of Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Alex Madonna Expo Center for SLO County Farm Bureau's 100th Anniversary Celebration. This community celebration of local agriculture will bring together farmers, ranchers and our neighbors for an evening of fun to recognize the people and history behind San Luis Obispo County's proud agricultural heritage.

  • We need your help! Do you or your family have old pictures from Farm Bureau or local agriculture events? Please contact our office at 805-543-3654 or email bburchett@slofarmbureau.org . Photos can be mailed to our office, sent by email, or dropped off at our office. We will scan a copy and return the photos to you. These photos will be used for our 100th Anniversary publication and display.

  • What: Candidate Forum for District 2 Supervisor Candidates
  • When: Wednesday, October 5 from 4:30-5:30pm
  • Where: SLO County Farm Bureau office - 4875 Morabito Place, San Luis Obispo
  • Details:  No registration is required to attend. The event is free and open to the public. We will record the forum and post a video link here the following day. Learn more here.

  • What: SLO County Foundation for Agricultural Awareness Fundraiser Dinner
  • When:  Thursday, October 20 at 6pm
  • Where: Giuseppe's Cucina Italiana - 891 Price Street, Pismo Beach
  • Menu: Thank you to our wine sponsor Saucelito Canyon Vineyard. This family-style dinner will include: Appetizers: Bruschetta, Mushrooms & Pizza; Caesar salad; Ravioli di Zucca; Chicken Basillico; Braciole and Orrechiette
  • Details: Tickets are $150 per person and must be purchased in advance. This event is limited to 88 people and will sell out. To get a ticket, please contact Farm Bureau at 805-543-3654 or email Brent Burchett at bburchett@slofarmbureau.org  as soon as possible.
  • Proceeds from the dinner fund the SLO County Foundation for Agricultural Awareness. Established in 1998, the San Luis Obispo County Foundation for Agricultural Awareness is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created to support agriculture in San Luis Obispo County. All proceeds from the event will go toward educational scholarships for San Luis Obispo County youth seeking higher education at a University, College, Professional, or Vocational school.

  • What: SLO County Agriculture Continuing Education Class
  • When:  Friday, October 28 from 8:00am to Noon 
  • Details: San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau and the County of San Luis Obispo Department of Agriculture / Weights & Measure are partnering to host a Continuing Education Class. This event is free and open to any farmer, rancher, agriculture employee, Agricultural Pest Control Adviser (PCA), Qualified Applicator (QAC/QAL), Private Applicator, or Certified Crop Adviser (CCA). 4 Hours Total DPR-Approved (2 LAWS & REGS AND 2 OTHER) and 4 Hours Certified Crop Advisor - Pending Approval 
  • Registration is requested, but not required. You can register online here, or by calling either the San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau at 805-543-3654 or the County of San Luis Obispo Department of Agriculture / Weights & Measures at 805-781-1554.
