2018 Farm Bill Heads to Conference Committee

Federal farm policies and programs that impact California farmers and ranchers are expected to be finalized in the coming weeks, as a House-Senate conference committee negotiates the 2018 Farm Bill. The House may also vote again on agricultural immigration legislation. The Senate passed its version of the farm bill on June 28, which will need to be reconciled with the bill passed earlier by the House. The farm bill establishes federal policy on programs affecting conservation, nutrition, commodities, trade, research, rural development and other topics.
