Ag Tie-Down Exemptions Expire April 30

The exemption from the federal tie-down regulations for the 2017–2018 harvest season  for those commodities hauled in bins, boxes and tubs is set to expire on April 30, 2018. The exemption was provided for the purpose of performing an evaluation on the methods of securement utilized by the industry.

This exemption applied to the intrastate transportation of perishable agricultural products transported in bins, boxes and tubs, from the field to the first point of processing or packing.
