Castañeda Receives
Top 20 under 40 Award

San Luis Obispo Farm Bureau Executive Board Member, Carlos Castañeda, was honored by the San Luis Obispo Tribune as one of the 2008 Book of Lists, “Top 20 under 40,” recipients.

Carlos, President of Mission Labor and partner at Castañeda & Sons Inc. received the award at a special luncheon on January 17.

Nominated by Nicholas Miller of Paso Robles Wine Services and fellow classmate of the California Agriculture Leadership Class 36, Miller had this to say, “Carlos lights up everyone around him. He is hard working, honest, bright, selfless, giving, bilingual and proactive."

Carlos, believes strongly that it is his duty to the community to provide steady work for several hundred families, “so they can keep food on their tables.”

Carlos lives with his wife, Rocio, his sister and nephew, on the same property in South County where he grew up. He is a Class 36 graduate of the California Agricultural Leadership Program, a volunteer with the YMCA and many other trader organizations. He is a advocate for immigration issues related to agriculture at local and regional forums.

San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau congratulates Carlos on receiving the award. SLO Co. Farm Bureau appreciates all the hard work he does for the community and the organization.
