Young Farmer Demonstrates Outstanding Leadership
In an organization comprised of agriculture leaders it is common place for individuals to go out of their way to make a difference for Farm Bureau and the industry. Their leadership demonstrates that agriculture producers’ care about taking the additional steps needed to preserve and protect the agricultural community. These individuals represent the heart and soul of the Farm Bureau and the engine that drives the organization. At times an individual’s involvement in the betterment of the organization goes above and beyond that of his peers. Their outstanding leadership is evident through their actions and those that they motivate to action.
San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau recognized, Frost Pauli, for his Outstanding Leadership as Chairman of the San Luis Obispo County Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee (YF&R) for 2006-07 at the Annual Meeting of Members, Saturday, September 22, at the Edwards Barn in Nipomo.
For Frost, leadership was born working alongside his dad, Bill Pauli, on the family farm. He also learned a great deal through watching as his dad guide the California Farm Bureau Federation for 27 consecutive years, a record of service unmatched in modern Farm Bureau history. He is a genuinely compassionate person that never asks for help and always looks to give a helping hand.
Frost is a young agriculturist with a passion to continue his family’s tradition of farming in the town of Potter Valley in Northern California. Frost spends his free time, away from San Luis Obispo, working with his family on their family farm.
While attending Cal Poly in Agriculture Business, Frost has found a passion for leadership in agriculture. As Chairman, Frost has nearly doubled the YF&R membership, growing the committee to well over 150 members in just one year. YF&R took an active roll to ensure that any ag group that requested a few good hands got what they needed and more. Over the last year, YF&R has logged over 200 hours of community service for the agriculture community supporting events like the Farm Bureau Women’s Agriculture Leadership Tour, Great AGVenture and Agriculture Task Force dinner.
In addition to their community support, under Frost’s leadership, the YF&R committee fully funded a trip for 16 members to attend the State YF&R Leadership Conference in Bakersfield to learn more from their peers about agriculture leadership. The committee also sent four other YF&R members to the National YF&R Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.
The committee’s accomplishments have also been recognized statewide. For the first time in recent record the SLO County YF&R Committee was awarded the 2006 Outstanding Committee of the Year by the California Farm Bureau Federation YF&R Committee. "The San Luis Obispo YF&R committee shows what can be done when an organization harnesses the energy that young people bring to everything they do,” said California Farm Bureau President, Doug Mosebar.
For these above reasons the San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau has awarded Frost Pauli the Outstanding Leadership Chair award. The Farm Bureau is grateful for his service and support.
