North Coast Farm Center
The Cambria Farm Center, now known as the North Coast Farm Center, was organized in the 1920s bringing together coastal farmers and ranchers from as far south as Morro Bay to the San Luis Obispo County line on the north. Center members are engaged in a diverse range of agricultural businesses including grazing, orchard production, row crops, grapes, hay, grain and even aquaculture.
The farm center is very active, providing social and informational opportunities for the area agriculturalists. Members learn about and take action on various local, state and national agricultural issues. Such action included organizing local agriculturalists to defeat a community services district lawsuit levied against over 100 area farmers and ranchers in 2003 and 2004.
The Center's quarterly meetings are held on the first Monday of January, April, July and October. Many have a social hour with a potluck dinner or barbecue.
